Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Joul ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Joul regarding your use of the App.

Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of Joul for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • Modify or copy the materials
  • Use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in the App
  • Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
  • Transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on any other server

This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by us at any time.

User Accounts

To access certain features of the App, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

User Content and Conduct

You retain ownership of the content you create and store in Joul ("User Content"). However, by using our service, you grant us certain rights to process and store your content as necessary to provide the service.

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation
  • Transmit or create content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers or networks connected to the App
  • Use automated means to access the App or collect data from the App
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or other systems or networks

AI Services and Content

Joul uses artificial intelligence to enhance your journaling experience. By using these AI features, you acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated responses and insights are provided for informational purposes only
  • AI responses should not be considered professional advice (medical, psychological, legal, or financial)
  • You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for important decisions
  • AI processing may not always be 100% accurate or appropriate for your specific situation
  • If you're experiencing mental health issues, please consult with qualified professionals

Subscription and Payment Terms

Certain features of Joul may require a paid subscription. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to pay all charges associated with your subscription at the prices in effect when the charges are incurred.

Billing and Renewals

  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
  • Refunds are subject to our refund policy and applicable law

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices regarding your personal information.

Intellectual Property Rights

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Joul and its licensors. The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may not use our trademarks, service marks, trade names, or logos in any way without our prior written permission.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Disclaimers

The information on this App is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations, warranties, and conditions relating to our App and the use of this App.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Joul be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the App.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately, and we may delete your account and data.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of Slovakia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
